CLASS TYPES

All our workouts are 55 minutes. We believe in bringing meaning to your workout, and not just moving for the sake of it. We hope you will reach your limits and explore beyond.

Semi-private induction

A class that is perfect for those returning to exercise, or those that have never done Pilates before and are concerned about joining a group class. The instructor will give you an assessment of your posture, and discuss any issues. They will then guide you through one of our basic level workouts to help you understand the technique and see how your body performs. Sometimes a new class is daunting, so you are welcome to bring a friend to this workout. It will give you the opportunity to have even more fun, as you workout. Once completed there is time to ask questions, and seek advice on classes you could join. We want you to leave your first class feeling stronger and more confident. To purchase HERE

Beginners Reformer Pilates Class

If you have never done Pilates before then we would recommend our semi-private induction (above). If you have done Pilates before, but not Reformer pilates then this is the right class for you. While the beginners class is still a whole body strengthening, we will be focusing on getting you familiar with the Reformer Machine and introducing you to the Pilates technique, with our unique twist. We will teach you the Pilates basics, helping you to connect with your body, strengthen your core, improve your posture and whole body flexibility. Welcome to the start of your Reformer Pilates journey with us.

Other things to bear in mind:

  • Whilst a basic level of fitness is helpful, it is not imperative.  Our Essential beginner classes welcome all abilities and anyone above 16 years of age.
  • You will get hot, so wear clothes that allow you to move easily and stay cool. You won’t need shoes and its socks or no socks on our machines.
  • If it’s your first class, you should make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes early. This is to allow you enough time to complete our health form and meet the instructor.
  • We recommend that you attend at least 4 essential beginner classes before trying the mixed ability classes. It is important to get your form right (breathing, core engagement and neutral) before you increase the intensity.
  • Please try out a variety of instructors, because they offer different exercises and challenges.

Mixed Ability Reformer Pilates Class

If you have attended our beginner classes for at least 4 sessions, then you can attend these classes. The class will flow more, and the instructor will expect you to have a basic understanding of the technique. They will always make sure that everyone is having a workout that will test their bodies and give them more power.

Mixed Ability Cardio Jump Reformer Pilates

Intermediate and Advanced levels are welcome to join this intense class. This is perfect if you would like to lose some weight. The other classes will tone your body, but this will get rid of some of the fat. The jump part is done on a jump board. A square board, that is slotted into the end of the reformer machine. You spring off it and slide very quickly down the reformer. This class really takes the core challenge to a new level. But typically, like in out other classes, we have fun in this class, adding balls to chuck between class mates. You will need to really connect with your core, but also with your mind, as the instructor likes to get you doing 5 things at once.

The Dynamic Reformer Pilates Class

A definite ‘change-up’ from our beginner classes, with the emphasis firmly on performance, power, and connecting with your body.

To book this class you should be comfortable with the Reformer Machine, understand how the core muscles work, and be able to activate them correctly. If you’ve already seen some improvement in your core strength and flexibility, you’re ready to take it to the next level and this is the class for you.

The class has a faster flow and is more intense . You can expect significantly more variety – there are literally hundreds of exercises for your instructor to take you through.

At each level, you’ll quickly see new levels of core strength, flexibility, and general fitness. Your posture will improve; you’ll stand taller and straighter, and your physique will become leaner and more toned.

Dynamic Cardio Power

These classes will have the additional challenge of the dynamic class, but, we will look to shorten those muscles, and use the machine like a weight. We fuse elements of traditional reformer pilates with cardio and endurance training. We look to give you very little down time and plenty of challenging moves on and off the reformer. All to get your heart truly beating and muscles aching. You should have done at least 4-6 beginner or mixed ability classes before attempting these.

Barre Fitness

The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements. Also, don’t be surprised if your class incorporates light handheld weights to bring the burn during all those reps, as well as mats for targeted core work.

Barre implements sequences of ballet and Pilates moves giving you a strong cardio workout, and whole body one too. The classes integrate the fat-burning element with muscle-shaping dynamic exercises to quickly and safely reshapes the entire body. This non-impact workout implements both the ballet barre and the mat exercises to target all major muscle groups. Like reformer, it will give you a whole body strength training. The result is the recognizable Barre body, featuring sculpted arms, flat abs, stronger glutes, and elongated thighs. Each strengthening section of the workout is followed by a stretching section to create long, lean muscle without bulk. This is a challenging class that requires focus and precision for maximum results.

Unlike reformer, the major benefits of barre are increased flexibility. Like all pilates, it will improve posture, muscle definition and help tone all over. Plus, women at just about any fitness level can sign up for a class. Barre classes are fine for pregnant women because they’re not high impact. They may even help with imbalance (a common issue during pregnancy due to that growing belly) and stability.
